King Township, ON

Roadside assistance in King City

King Township is rural coverage, and it is the part of our footprint where having a local operator matters most. Long unlit concession roads, deep ditches and properties set back from the road are the norm here.

Working in King City

What we have learned running this area

  • This is our highest winch-out area per call. The concession roads between Keele and Dufferin have steep ditches that vanish under drifted snow, and a car goes in almost silently.

  • Cell coverage is patchy west of Jane. If a call drops, dispatch will keep the truck rolling to your last known location rather than waiting for you to call back.

  • Long private driveways on the estate lots are often gravel and unploughed. Tell us the driveway length and we send a truck that can turn around at the top.

Landmarks

Places we get called to

  • King City GO Station
  • Seneca King Campus
  • Kingbridge Centre
  • King Road and Highway 400
  • Nobleton

Any of these is enough to place you. So is a cross street, a plaza name or a highway exit number.

Questions

Calling us from King City

How fast can you get to me?

Our average across all calls is 25 minutes. In Aurora and Newmarket it is usually under 20. In North York or during a snowstorm it can be an hour or more. Dispatch gives you a real window on the call rather than a number designed to stop you phoning someone else.

What does it cost?

You get the full price before a truck is dispatched, and it does not change afterwards. Boosts, lockouts and flat tire changes start at $75. Towing starts at $95 for the hook-up plus distance. Winch-outs start at $125. There is no night, weekend or holiday surcharge.

Do you charge more at night or on holidays?

No. A 3am call on New Year's Day is billed at the same rate as a Tuesday afternoon. Surcharging people at their worst moment is common in this trade and we have chosen not to do it.

Are you actually open 24 hours?

Yes, with a person answering rather than a voicemail box. Trucks run overnight, and overnight is when a large share of our calls come in.

Do you work with insurance or motor club memberships?

We will invoice you directly and give you a detailed receipt that any insurer or motor club will accept for reimbursement. We are not a contracted provider for the clubs, so you pay us and claim it back.
